After reaching 9-0 for the first time in school history with Saturday’s 45-17 home win over Temple, Louisville moved up one position to No. 9 in the this week’s BCS standings released on Sunday night. The Cardinals remained at No. 10 in the latest USA Today coaches’ poll released on Sunday and gained one position to No. 11 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25. Entering the 11th week of the season, Louisville is joined in the national rankings by BIG EAST Conference member Rutgers (No. 23 in BCS standings/No. 20 in USA Today/No. 24 AP), while Cincinnati is among the teams receiving votes outside the top 25 in the coaches’ poll.
Up next, Louisville (9-0, 4-0) will return to the road for the first time since Oct. 13 when they travel to Syracuse (4-5, 3-2) for a BIG EAST Conference matchup on Saturday at noon ET at the Carrier Dome. The game will be televised regionally by ABC.
