After regaining possession of the Keg of Nails with last Friday’s 34-31 overtime win against rival Cincinnati, unbeaten Louisville moved up four positions in both major national polls on Sunday rising to No. 10 in the USA Today coaches’ poll and to No. 12 in the Associated Press Top 25. Entering the 10th week of the season, the Cardinals are joined in the national rankings by BIG EAST Conference member Rutgers (No. 25 in USA Today/RV in AP), while Cincinnati is among the teams receiving votes outside the top 25 in the coaches’ poll.
Up next, Louisville (8-0, 3-0) will look for its first ever 9-0 start to a season when it hosts Temple in a BIG EAST Conference matchup on Saturday at noon ET at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. The game will be televised regionally by ABC.
