Our final player interview from this week’s BIG EAST Conference media day activities in Newport, R.I., features junior defensive back Hakeem Smith. A native of Jonesboro, Ga., Smith earned First Team All-BIG EAST honors while starting all 13 games last season. He was second on the team in 2011 with 84 tackles and is a two-year starter at safety.
