Entering this week, the Cardinals continue to boast one of the nation’s toughest defenses according to the national rankings. Louisville is first in the country in tackles for loss, averaging nine per contest. The defense also owns top-25 marks in rushing defense (No. 13 at 85 yards allowed per game), scoring defense (No. 20, allowing just 16.75 points per game), sacks (No. 21, with 2.75 sacks per game) and total defense (No. 23, holding opponents to 306.75 yards per game). Individually, senior linebacker Dexter Heyman is tied for 18th nationally in tackles for loss at 1.50 per game – he owns six total tackles for loss this year.
