Following practice on Oct. 4, selected student-athletes spoke with the media about preparations this week and what they are expecting from a 4-1 North Carolina squad. Louisville, which stands at 2-2 overall, heads to Chapel Hill to play the Tar Heels on ESPN2 on Saturday, Oct. 8, at noon.

Entering this week, the Cardinals continue to boast one of the nation’s toughest defenses according to the national rankings. Louisville is first in the country in tackles for loss, averaging nine per contest. The defense also owns top-25 marks in rushing defense (No. 13 at 85 yards allowed per game), scoring defense (No. 20, allowing just 16.75 points per game), sacks (No. 21, with 2.75 sacks per game) and total defense (No. 23, holding opponents to 306.75 yards per game). Individually, senior linebacker Dexter Heyman is tied for 18th nationally in tackles for loss at 1.50 per game – he owns six total tackles for loss this year.
